‘My wife is the greatest achievement of my life’: Mirza Fakhrul

BNP Secretary General and Local Government Minister Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has mentioned his wife Rahat Ara Begum as the biggest achievement of his life. At the same time, he also recalled his wife’s courage, sacrifice and support during various difficult times in his political life.

In a recent video interview given to an online media outlet, Mirza Fakhrul talked about his family life and the role of his wife in politics.

Mirza Fakhrul called his wife the biggest achievement of his life

About his wife Rahat Ara Begum, Mirza Fakhrul said that she is the biggest achievement of his life. He also said that he had his wife by his side when he gradually entered political life from his working life after marriage.

Mirza Fakhrul said that his wife has been by his side not only as a life partner, but also as an important companion amidst the uncertainties and various adversities of political life.

She has handled the responsibilities of the family by working

Mirza Fakhrul said that his wife has worked in an insurance company for a long time. Along with her job, she also had to handle the education of her children and various family responsibilities.

He said that it was possible for his wife to continue her daughters' education due to her efforts. While teaching at Holy Cross School, the family members had to go through various hardships, including traveling by public transport.

Later, the BNP Secretary General said that when the income of the two increased slightly, the family's financial situation gradually improved.

Wife was by his side during political crises

Mirza Fakhrul also recalled various critical periods in his political life. He said that even when the police took him away, his wife handled the situation bravely.

Once, when the police raided his house at night, his wife refused to open the door. She decided not to open the door until dawn. Later, when media workers arrived at the scene, the door was opened in the morning and the police took Mirza Fakhrul away.

Mirza Fakhrul said that his wife has never been upset with him because of his political career. Rather, she has stood by him bravely in various adverse situations.

According to him, his wife's cooperation, sacrifice and courage during his long political career are of great value. He especially remembers the way his wife stood by him during the uncertain times of political life, in addition to handling family responsibilities.
