The low pressure formed in the Bay of Bengal may quickly transform into a depression as it further intensifies and turns into a clear depression, the Meteorological Department said. In this situation, the country's four seaports have been asked to display warning number 3.

In a maritime warning issued by the Meteorological Department on Friday (September 26), it was said that the low pressure in the northwest Bay of Bengal and the adjacent west-central Bay of Bengal near the coast of Odisha and Andhra Pradesh in India has turned into a clear depression at 6 am. It may intensify further and there is a possibility of some impact on the coast of Bangladesh.

Meteorologist Shahnaz Sultana said, "The clear depression may turn into a depression. However, there is less possibility of special impact in other parts of the country."

According to sources in the Meteorological Department, the low pressure has caused variations in air pressure in the north Bay of Bengal. As a result, gusty or squally winds may blow in the North Bay of Bengal, coastal areas and seaports of Bangladesh. Due to this, the seaports of Chittagong, Cox's Bazar, Mongla and Payra have been instructed to display local warning signal number 3.

Fishing boats and trawlers in the North Bay of Bengal have been warned. The Meteorological Office has said that they should approach the coast with caution until further notice.

In short: Due to the intensification of the low pressure, caution is required in the ports of Chittagong, Cox's Bazar, Mongla and Payra, caution is required in the movement of coastal boats.
