Prime Minister Tarique Rahman Leaves New York After UN Visit

Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has departed for home after participating in the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly. During his five-day visit, he addressed the General Assembly and held meetings with leaders from various nations and representatives of international organizations.

The Prime Minister's Press Secretary, Saleh Shibli, stated that the Emirates flight carrying him departed from John F. Kennedy International Airport at 11:30 PM local time on Friday (September 25). He is accompanied by his wife, Dr. Zubaida Rahman, and members of his entourage.

The flight will travel to Dhaka via Dubai. According to the published itinerary, he is scheduled to depart for Dhaka after arriving in Dubai on September 26. The Prime Minister is expected to arrive at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport on September 27 at 8:40 AM (Bangladesh time).

This marked the first time Tarique Rahman delivered a speech in Bangla during the General Debate of the UN General Assembly. In his address, he articulated Bangladesh's stance on peace and security, climate change, sustainable development, humanitarian crises, economic cooperation, and the Rohingya crisis.

During the visit, he held a meeting with Thai Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul. Additionally, he engaged in discussions with various heads of state and government, as well as representatives from international and development partner organizations. The Prime Minister also attended a dinner hosted by Bangladesh's Permanent Representative to the United Nations.
