Meanwhile, some complications arose with the vote counting. Election Commissioner Professor Shahidul Islam said that around 1 am, about 300 votes were counted manually in one center. Later, the same votes were counted again using two OMR machines. The decision was made to count the votes in the next centers using the machine whose results matched the manual count. According to this decision, the recount began with 278 votes from the Anthropology department.
Earlier, around 9:20 pm on Tuesday, the entire process was temporarily halted due to a technical glitch in the OMR machine during the counting of votes. After resolving the problem, the Election Commission resumed the counting of votes after a long break.
It is worth noting that voting was held in 178 booths in 39 centers for the JOKSU and HAL parliamentary elections from 9 am to 3 pm on Tuesday. Voting was completed with extra time due to long queues at some centers even after the scheduled time. The total voter turnout in the election was about 65 percent. The results of 35 centers are still pending, which will play an important role in determining the final result.
